Goodmeurnin',

for the 2nd time this year I visited Düsseldorf and again I had a few new ones... :)

I'm gonna start with my best shot. A fairly fast moving helicopter, but shot at 1/25th and F.18 on 100 iso and 400mm zoom.

02 Taken at 1/125th and F.16 on 100iso with 285mm (and -2/3 exposure compensation):

03 Also on 1/125th, but with F.18 on 100iso and 285mm (and -2/3 exposure compensation):

04 This one is with 1/160th and F.14 on 100iso and 400mm (with -2/3 exposure compensation) and cropped. Already the heathaze is taking its toll:

05 Made with 1/160th and F.16 on 100iso with 340mm (and -2/3 exposure compensation):

06 Propellors can also be seen from behind; (1/100th and F.16 on 100iso and 260mm):

07 Here you can see that a Lufthansa A340 is a lot bigger than a Turkish A330  :

08 And here you can see that a LTU A330 is even bigger than a Lufthansa A340  :

11 Two out of three Lufthansa Cityline CRJ700's in Star Alliance c/s; how big are the odds?:

12 The retro TUIFly, or HapagFly... or is it Hapag-Lloyd?:

13 The "Hannover Airport Special" of TUIFly:

14 Delivered on 11 april, so 14 days old!: A320 SX-DVY van Aegean:

15 This is what you get when you forget to close the hatches...:

There is more, but I'm saving some for later

Greetingsenzo,
Bert.

Emergency training.
Exactly. D-ABBN was scheduled to be off for repainting in the new airberlin.com c/s, so it was available for a few different exercises/trainings.
I have seen firetrucks, ambulances, rescue-vehicles, etc... There were a lot of people standing on a grandstand made of big airstairs monitoring the proceedings.

I'm not really into "prop-blur as a new religion", but the carpatair really does it Bert! (instead of "Functioneel bloot", we can now talk about ""functioneel prop-blur" afaik.. )
Seems you had a really nice day again....

I'm not really into "prop-blur as a new religion",
Maybe you aren't, but I am :) (And have been for years. It started with my first shots of motorbikes at the TT in 1977. I wanted sharp pictures, so I went high on the shutterspeeds... result was that the background was sharp as well and there was no dynamics left at all. So as of 1978 I try to get sharpness and motionblur)

But I have to say that the 1/25th of the first picture was by accident. I saw the chopper coming and set my aperture to F.18 (which made the shutterspeed go down to about 1/100th), but when the helicopter flew in front of the "big black hole" that was the open hangar, I took the shot (mainly for contrast), but it also resulted in the camera reacting to that "black hole" by going to 1/25th 8)
Never imagined that I would get a sharp picture out of it...

Nice to see another 343 in DUS. D-AIGY was in DUS as a replacement for D-AIFF.
