Panic at take-off @ Gatwick
Hundreds of travellers got scary moment yesterday whilst their airplane - an A300 - attempted 4 trials to go airborne. The pilot in command stopped 3 times on the very last moment, which caused a lot of panic.
The airplane had to take off from Gatwick and was on it's way to the Egyption city of Taba. Technicians hd to examine the fuelsystems very well
The aircraft returned to the terminal where all 355 passengers had to be offloaded. After a rigorous inspection a malfunction in the electrical system popped up to be the cause. The part was replaced and the aircraft was again directed to the tarmac.
Graham Owen - a pensioned custom official - described the panic on board. " People didn't believe the aircraft was safe and requested another aircraft. But the wish wasn't fullfilled.
According to a spokesman of Airbus, the security was never taken in doubt and the lives of passengers was never risked.

Great stuff from the Tele-vaag/Tele-laugh, and the press agency they got the report from.
According to the Avherald report, there were three low-speed aborts, the first two for electrical faults, and the third for a fuel indication problem. I can imagine that there were concerns amongst the passengers, but panic?
Another case of the media blowing it out of proportion.

Very very funny, thanks for sharing!
I wish I was in that plane. I'd like it when a plane uses it full thrust-reverse for the last moment as Ryanair does often
