in search of logs for may/june 1987
I'm working my way through a pile of old pics and ran into a bunch of pictures that I must have taken in May or June 1986 as they feature the Holloman F-15 deployment at that time. I however, never bothered to write down the exact date so now I'm hoping to retrieve that date by cross checking the logs (if there are any available) with the serials on my pics.
The serials I have noted are;
77-0081
77-0110
77-0111 ("8 TFS")
77-0114
77-0117
77-0120
77-0126
77-0143
77-0144 and
77-0145
Running into them was pure coincidential: I was at EHGR for a Pilot's selection day, this has been a 2 day event - on Tuesday and Wednesday if I call correctly - and I saw the Eagles come in as I was about to drive home so if my memory doesn't let me down the pictures would have been taken on a Wednesday.
Perhaps anyone knows a way of retrieving info on those selection day's ? That would be the best way to get a fixed date...., but perhaps someone can but above numbers next to their logs and see on which days all these birds flew?
Can anyone help me out please?

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
Hi,
A quick visit on 15th September 1986, recorded 77-0091 : HO of 49TFW in the hangar alonside 79-0024 : CR. Not sure whether this was a detachment as only other Eagles I saw were 32 TFS.
Sorry if this puts a spoke in the wheel bit a confirmed report.
Regards

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
Are you sure this was at EHGR. I noted both eagles in a 334sqn hangar at Soesterberg. 77-0091 was left at EHSB after an emergency (damaged wing, after pylon fell off over Nijmegan 18 June, finally departed 30 October).
Soesterberg had the following deployment from 20 May 1986 to 20 June 1986: Coronet Apache with the follwoing 49TFW/9TFS F-15A's:
77-0063 77-0071 77-0077 77-0082 77-0091/"9TFS" 77-0095 77-0105 77-0106 77-0109 77-0113 77-0151 77-0153
At Gilze-Rijen was another 49TFW squadron deployed (7TFS): Coronet Mescalaro, with the following eagles (27 May 1986 - 24 June 1986):
F-15A
77-0078 77-0099 77-0119 77-0122 77-0130 77-0132 77-0133 77-0134 77-0136 77-0137/"7TFS" 77-0138
F-15B
77-0165
77-0138 was damaged by fire, after receiving bird-strike on landing at Gilze-Rijen, 13 June 1986. It was transported by road to Soesterberg in July & air cargoed by C-5 back to CONUS, 3 September.
In 1987 the 49TFW/8TFS came to Gilze-Rijen with the following eagles for deployemnt Coronet Scout:
77-0081 77-0110 77-0111 77-0114 77-0116 77-0117 77-0118/"8TFS" 77-0120 77-0126 77-0143 77-0144 77-0145

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
As mentioned above; the year should have read 1987 instead of 1986...... and as I only saw 10 a/c while 12 were deployed I was hoping that logs of that deployment could determine the exact date....Vulture One wrote:Hi,

Hi Dennis,
Thank you for post. Am seriously embarrassed to say that it was Soesterberg and not Gilze Rijen. Just ignore me, getting too old and not reading things properly so sorry for misleading.
Kind regards

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
Tried to see if any other specific plane had landed but alas....,
therefor I scanned a few pictures, not the best scans but the best I could make of it from the office scanner. Perhaps someone recognises himself or someone else which could tie a date to these pictures??

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
I notice that they carry wing-tanks which should limit the date to either the arrivals day, or one or two days before the end of the deployment (test-flight with tanks?).Polleke_NL wrote:Tried to see if any other specific plane had landed but alas....,

Re: in search of logs for may/june 1986
Seems like a valid point. So taking into consideration that they left on Wednesday June 24., 1987, this would date my pictures back to June 22 or 23rd...Gerard wrote:I notice that they carry wing-tanks which should limit the date to either the arrivals day, or one or two days before the end of the deployment (test-flight with tanks?).Polleke_NL wrote:Tried to see if any other specific plane had landed but alas....,
