Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |
Red Flag 0903
Just got back from Nellis, spent a couple of days over there last week during the last week of a special 3 week Red Flag. The only special about it was that is lasted an other week. The first two weeks were a regular flag, the last week was an air to ground special so all the airdefence aircraft had already left in favour of some A-10's which only participated the third week.
Unfortunately no media days this time and photographing was difficult because of the early launches and recouveries, the weather was sunny but with heavy winds gusting upto 40 mph it was quite a challange to get the aircraft in the middle of my lens.
Here are the first results, starting with my main reason for going, Aussie F-111's, all taken with Canon (1.3) and a 700mm lens (500+1.4). Hope you enjoy them.
Grtz,
Hans

We had some great launches at the end of the day, locals were taking off with heavy ordinance and some banked quite nicely at gate 8. Some even returned with a lot of ordinance left.

I always enjoy the agressors, although not participating anymore at RF, they made two sorties a day most of the time two F-15's and six F-16's. I think F-15 "38" is a new one, haven't seen that one before

Thanks for all the nice comments, here are some of the "electronic" planes. The big birds took off just before sunset, unfortunately the jets just after.

Out of diskspace at Photobucket.. So he's looking for new or taking a supscription or deleting older topic photos or something like that.. We want our pictures back Hans, it's killing to see just these stupid signs, knowing there is some great shot underneath.. Please give us more hogs, vipers (Agressors Yeehaaa! ) raptors, eagles, ravens, ants, dogs, cats, mice, sharks etc..
