Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
I think the aircraft either came landing with a running EPU (Emergency Power Unit) or it's an exercise for such an event. The EPU runs on hydrazine, which is not too healthy a gas. Hydrazine powers the EPU in case the engine or the gearbox fails and powers both the electric and hydraulic systems. When a Viper with a running EPU lands, it will not return to the flightline but it will park at the end of the runway or at a runway intersection. The EPU system is safetied by the guys in the special hydrazine-suits (shown in the picture), the flight-crew exits the aircraft and then the aircraft is taken to a special hangar where the EPU system is purged. The EPU and the bottle which contains the hydrazine sits on the RH-side, behind the cockpit.

I totally agree. To me it's "just" a picture.

Is this arty enough? I thought so when I took the photo. MiG-23UB at Lärz, 23 March 1993.

Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
When I shot this picture of this herc (G-275), I immediately knew it was F-up. However, when transferred the pics from my EOS to my computer, I saw I was quite arty-farty, even without photoshop. Lesson learned: never throw away your failed pics
