I'm afraid a B-2 at KeeBee won't be an option considering the kind of maintenance/generation facilities needed to support this bird.

Well, still quite a few months to go and EBBL is known for their ability to "persuade" rarities to come over - fly by or landing - so let's just be patient... For the numerous years I've gone to the EBBL Spotter's day (and I really missed this year's !!!), they have never ever disappointed me.....

Let's be patient and don't judge untill this days has come (just my 2 cents)

Chances of a B2 flyby

Post by dverhees »

Hi Scramblers. Unfortunately the chances of a B2 flyby anytime in the next few years are "slim and none". In recent discussions with a 393 sq Commander I found out that there are still security issues with the stealth business, especially after some recent upgrades to this highly classified system. Flying low and slow just "anywhere" is definitely not on. Yeah, I know that they used to fly with, for example, an F-15 on each wing to mask their signature, but that's passe as well.

Concerning US Tigers, don't hold your breath either. Although there are several efforts ongoing to get them over here, nothings changed with their already heavy deployment schedules. It may just happen if the gods are smiling that someone is passing through at just the right time. I guess everyone noticed that this past once-every-two-year Tiger Meet of the Americas at Shaw AFB was a bust.

Doesn't matter that much what will come to the tigermeet, but I hope entry arragements will be better than the last spotters day.

Hi all,

Quote Redskin:

True, I will be there and if the same particpants are there as the 2008 edition at Landivisiau it will be a great Tiger Meet. For those who missed the 2008 edition participants were:
Austria, 3dts, Saab 105
Belgium, 31 smaldeel, F-16AM/BM
Czech, 211 tl, JAS-39C/D
Czech, 231 vrl, Mi-24V
France, EC01.012, Mirage 2000C/B
France, EC05.330, Rafale C/B
France, 11F, S.E.M. / Rafale M
Germany, JbG-32, Tornado ECR
Germany, AG-51, Tornado IDS
Italy, 21 Gruppo, AB212
Norway, 338 Skv, F-16AM
Netherlands, 313 sqn, F-16AM
Spain, Esq 142, Mirage F1
Spain, Ala 15, EF-18
Switzerland, F/A-18
UK, 230 sqn, Puma HC1
UK, 814 sqn, Merlin

No greek or turkish participants. Let's hope KeeBee wil have the honour to host also some greek and turkish participants. Time will tell. The event is only 8 months away.

Next to that also the Sanicole airshow will be held in this period. Who knows if this will bring some other participants (not related to the tiger meet)?

I assume and hope by time Daniel (http://www.baha.be) will open an item on this website as he did for the 2007 event at Kleine-Brogel aitrbase. The information then given was very reliable!

Grtz,

Edward.

I cannot agree to that, there were several spotterdays in the last years. I think all were similar in points of daytime, so that's why I asked.

You are right! :) Think some people will follow suit flying to Düsseldorf and going by car to KB... Ok, enough offtopic, just read the forum rulez above!

The 'Belgian Defence Days' won't be held anymore. Instead, every component has its own event. Maybe a regular BAC open day ?
