Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
I've watched the site. Thanks for posting the link. Don't get me wrong with my next comment. I don't think these shots are artlike. As beautiful as the pics are because of the lovely compositions, to me they are 'just' detailed shots mostly. But hey ... maybe I'm not a specialist in what's art and what isn't ... taste is a diffucult thing. For 'really good ones' in 'Arty-Farty' close-up's, just visit the master/mistress Francoise at http://www.airandfeel.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (check the 'snake')
Then you know about 'Arty-Farty' ......
Anyhow, great topic ... I've seen some great pics here.

Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
I surely wouldn't mind, but this has been tried before and some people really rejected it...Maybe a new topic about this kind of pics??
But this 'arty farty' thing is really a great topic; very inspiring and I think that's one of the main reasons to start a photo forum anyhow. Keep 'm coming!

Rob

Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
Hi guys,
I just love this topic, but there is a really big "BUT" in this..... In my personal opinion some people seem to feel that everything that's not straight-from-the-side can be called arty-farty. But to me several photos in this topic are just "compleet mislukt" or totally lack atmosphere.
I hope speak for more people when I say: "Arty-Farty are the kind of shots that you would print in poster size and hang on your wall". And if you are in doubt if your shots are arty-farty, ask yourself if other photographers will stop scrolling and watch your shot in admiration.
Sorry for this comment, but I feel that some contributions are simply degrading the topic.
Cheers,
Iwan

Re: Your 'Arty-Farty' pics
No real photographer either, and agree as well. But, if we rephrase the subject title to "I would like to know whether this picture, that I personally like very much, can be called 'Arty-farty'.", all pics are relevant though... Maybe we should not take it all too serious, it is a hobby after all. And, it is all about personal opinions (aka opiniums ).Lex wrote:Iwan, I totally agree and I'm no photographer!Iwan Bogels wrote:Hi guys,
