Split off: SAR from Leeuwarden to de Kooy?
Fighters @ EHGR forget it!! There is allready to much noice now the complete heli fleet is there.
And "IF" the transport fleet will move, i think it will be logical to move them to EHWO, but i think they will stay at EHEH (hopefully)
And how about one fighter unit @ EHWO "IF" EHLW will close in the future!!
And the move of SAR to EHKD sounds logical to me, because of the NH-90. And maybe they will have a structure that permanent one NH-90 will be stand by at EHLW like they do now at Terschelling!!
We will see what the future will bring us, i'am allready happy with all those helo's @ EHGR

I miss the noise of (especially) the Chinook.
I love it.

Please shake it off and stop whining. As a former SSB spotter myself I think everybody should all stop feeling sorry for themselves. In almost every topic where EHGR is mentioned, a SSB spotter just HAS to make a statement about SSB.Alpha Kilo One wrote:I am happy for you, but living next to Soesterberg, I am NOT happy.i'am allready happy with all those helo's @ EHGR

I know it's IF IF IF but a little speculation is always nice....Redskin301 wrote:Fighters @ EHGR forget it!! There is allready to much noice now the complete heli fleet is there.

If the transport fleet will move to Woensdrecht I think they will need to lengthen the runway first....
JSF's stationed at Woensdrecht seems unlikely to me (infrastructure?)

It may be 'always nice' but this is still the 'Military News' forum so please continue the speculation part in the Tattle Lounge.Bassie76 wrote:I know it's IF IF IF but a little speculation is always nice....Redskin301 wrote:Fighters @ EHGR forget it!! Re: SAR from Leeuwarden to de Kooy?
I am not whining, only responding to the fact that fighters will never have a chance of arriving at EHGR, because of noise-restrictions.a SSB spotter just HAS to make a statement about SSB
And I love the noise of Chinooks, that's what I feel sorry about ........
Not a fact of being EHGR or SSB spotter

Re: SAR from Leeuwarden to de Kooy?
Military transport stays at Eindhoven airbase, not eindhoven airport... it is an airbase with civil co-users, not the other way around, so the KLu will 99% certainly stay at their own base..... It is far more likely that civil traffic will be re-directed...What about the rumours of relocating the transportsquadrons from Eindhoven to another airfield in light of the increasing number of civil flights at this field?
Still rumours, or not?If so, maybe EHLW is an option.....
I have never drunk milk, and I never will . . . .

I think all the discussions about closing EHLW can be knocked off.
There is a recent agreement between the Dutch MOD and the Society De Friesche Elfsteden. In case in there will be an ice- skating race along the eleven cities in Friesland in the future , a lot of facilities are then available at EHLW. So............
Or has the Society to move the eleven city race to another part of the Netherlands?

Re: SAR from Leeuwarden to de Kooy?
Depends on what kind of facilities. If the MoD closes the base or sells the ground, such agreement normally is supposed to cease to exist. I don't know how long this agreement is supposed to be in force, or it is just something to deal with the ice-fever of this last week.visser wrote:There is a recent agreement between the Dutch MOD and the Society De Friesche Elfsteden. Over the years, they even moved it out of the Netherlands.visser wrote:Or has the Society to move the eleven city race to another part of the Netherlands?

You still don't understand it. I'am talking about the 11 Stedentocht, not about one of the (commercial) copies.

Correct, that's the reason for the misunderstanding.
