ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Nusty; I am also interested in the placing you use at Schiphol and what your equipment is?

Thanks for sharing the info!

I (along with some friends) have been making banking shots for the past 5 years already, and I'm surprised to see that so few people have ventured out to find these spots. I've had numerous mails asking where these type of photos can be taken (I'm sure Nusty gets lots of these mails aswell), but still I see very few others doing it.

Just get in your car/on your bike, watch the planes take off and follow them flying out. See where they turn and position yourself in the best spot. The only thing you have to be willing to sacrifice, is the fact that you will only see a few (large) planes that make a nice turn. Going to a "spotterplaats" will result in lots of photos of planes, you will always see something. Going to a "banking" spot will result in only a handful, or even nothing. It's a risk when moving away from the safe spottersplaats photos.

You do need at least 400mm. (on a DSLR with cropfactor)

The better part of spotting is finding new locations and get that 'other' shot.
