Hi all,
With the recent sale of some A-109BA to Africa I am wondering wether the Belgian Defence is planning to replace her Hirundo's of just again shrink a little bit.
With their BN-2A Islanders gone, the Alouette II seriously aging the Belgian's should purhase something new. To keep up their work.
Anybody more info wether they are looking for new choppers or simply be phased out and not replaced?
Greetings,
Stafsels

Well, they are getting 10 new NH.90's if I remembercorrectly (first they ordered 8 and they also executed an option for another 2). Those should replace the Sea Kings, but since they only have 5 of those they will have more capacity when the NH.90's have arrived. So maybe they will also be used in other roles? I'm sure someone else with a lot more knowledge than me can give more info, but hopefully it's a start!

Hello,
On the following page a lot of info can be found on the NH90 program within the Belgian Air Component :
http://www.mil.be/aircomp/subject/index ... =11&MENU=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For the rest there are no plans to buy something new.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Laurent
