Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Hello,

In the end of April we went to Phantomtown Wittmund in Germany. From outside the base, at the fence, great pictures can be made as you can walk at about 100m away from the runway all runway long. Sun is in your back all day long. They fly like hell: 4 missions per day with about 10-15 aircraft per mission. First departures are 7h45, last landing 21h30 (when we were there). One problem is that they don't like photographers a lot. We stayed a bit away from the fence when there was no flying activity, but didn't had any visit of the police or other military peoples.
We stayed at about 2 km from the airfield for only 15 euro's per night (breakfast included).

Unfortunatly the first day, the first mission was cancelled due to the fog, but the other 3 went on. When the 2nd mission of the day returned the sun even appeared.

Here are some pictures:
