Russian Mi8 question

Post by AK01 »

I recently completed scanning my Russia 1993 slides and found an (to me) unknown Mi8 on the background of one of the pictures.
Is there anyone who can tell me the full registration it's ending at 53 or 63, and from what agency this Mi8 (TPA.... in red on it) is? .
Picture was taken at Tushino in ,93.

Well, the digits look like ...63 to me. And the letters could well be Cyrillic, making it TRA... There is a hint of a next character, my first guess would be Trans... something. No match found in Soviet Transport data so far though, logged at Tushino.

But the digits could also be cyrrilic for BZ ;-)

Just to confuse things a little bit more....

Pieter,

According a tripreport (the C.J Travel trip to Zhukovsky) in the"Panoravia" from October 1993

Seen at Tushino on 02-09-93 and/or 05-09-93 was:

Mi-8MT 72 yellow/CCCP-83963 with Transaero titels c/n 95194

What I can remember was this Mi-8 parked near the police station

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Pieter.....what a trip that was :D

Ah, found it now. Did not turn up in search because it is in the ST data as 'CCCP-83963(*)' (-83963 was also worn by a Li-2 and Tu-124) and I did not take that addition into account. Sorry about that. The c/n is 9 5194.

I thank you all, i had it in my logbook just as 72 Yellow, i never knew it had a double registration. Scramble's airshow section doesn't have any log for this show as well.
Regards Pieter,
ps nice colours for Transaero
