Adla airbases closure
Hi all,
Due to severe defence budget cuts and a new policy of "combined military installations" (Air Force, Army and Navy), several Adla airbases will be closed.
Cambrai, Colmar, Dijon, Luxeuil and Orange have been mentioned.
This is the end...

The French MOD White Book will clarify many points, issue on 17th of June.
President Sarkozy had already announced that "several Adla airbases haven't seen any aircraft for 20 years and must be closed".
Nothing to add...

Hi all,
This morning, the headlines of the Defence White Book have been given by President Sarkozy.
Military forces will be severely reduced, especially Adla personnels (-25%).
In terms of equipments, Adla will have a fleet of 300 fighters (Rafale and Mirage 2000) and the A-400M transport aircraft remains a priority.
About air installations closure, further details will be given but between 5-10 airbases will be closed (Colmar, Reims, Cambrai, Luxeuil, Orange, Dijon). BAN Nîmes-Garons has also been mentionned.
Nancy with Mirages 2000D, St-Dizier with Rafales, Istres with Mirages 2000N and C-135FR, Avord with E-3F, Orléans with A-400M (one day maybe...) and Mont-de-Marsan will stay, but this is a non-exhaustive list.

You're perfectly right Robert!!!Robert wrote:I think thats the number of personel who go to that base after reassigment.
Last news about "the new Adla": the Air Forces Command (Commandement des Forces Aériennes) will be transfered from Metz to Dijon, and the Strategic Air Forces Command (Commandement des Forces Aériennes Stratégiques) from Taverny to Lyon Mt-Verdun.
Finally, the Mirage F1CR will leave Reims to Mt-de-Marsan.
