F-117 Tribute
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

F-117 Tribute
In a few weeks another chapter in aviation history will be closed when the last F-117 Nighthawk will touch down at Tonopah for indefinite storage. E very few examples will remain flying at Edwards for a little while but Holloman will transition to the Raptor later this year.
Time to remember this type! Please show me your F-117 or Stealth RELATED pictures. Hopefully some among you got some nice scans of deployment at Gilze in the early nineties.
I will kick-off with some examples taken at the Holloman airshow last October. Please note. The T-38's and Raptors are related
Cheers,
Frank

I do have pics of the deployment at Gilze Rijen. Sadly my scanner isn't of a very good quality, so I will have to pass on showing the pics. Here you go with the ones I think I can show you. First 3 are analog, last one digital:

Here's one picture of the arrival at Gilze in 1993. @ the time I was 13 and my father put me in the middle of the hedge in front of the runway (and all the spotters) with his Olympus PF-101 and a 28??mm lens. It's a scan of a big print of poor quality but from a historical perspective I think it's save to post it!
