Does anyone happen to have pics of the J-653 as it flew in 1991 as a testbed?

on 03-03 I saw J-653 doing some SFO aproaches at eindhoven, with RNLAF flight test center titles on the side. ( i don't recall the titels in detail by hart, cause I have the pictures on my other comp, but they were something like this.)kiwi wrote:Maybe a stupid question, but: What do they test on testbeds? I recall recently hearing we still have a test F16 but what do they test?

On this side she features a "De Peel" tailband (assume still from 306sqn?), what was she wearing on the other side? Also "De Peel" or "Brabants Bont"?
In those day's it wa commen that the based 306 F-16's where wearing both flags on the tail. This 'cause there war base was De Peel.
Ooh, and it's the flag of Limburg, not the one from De Peel.

Not only the war base, i remember that they also change the sqn sometime betwin the 2 bases. And the 306 did some training from there, and the smal weapons group was here (patriot, Nike Stinger). When you call to the base, your phone call was transfer to Volkel those days.Paul wrote:Yeb,Polleke_NL wrote:But it brings another question:

De Peel was WAR base location of 306 till 1994. During Tac Eval and other base exercise like concreet etc., 306 moved to De Peel 'cause 306 was not part of the strike force when 'we' went to war. As De Peel was not fully operational and only a small guard unit was temp. based everything was handeld by Volkel. SAM unit's arrived here in '95, after closing 3GGW Blomberg and 5GGW Stolzenau...PiPoServisAir wrote:Not only the war base, i remember that they also change the sqn sometime betwin the 2 bases. Sorry was not good in years, and i din't know that it was a "war" base. i know it was the sister base of volkel. And i remember a gossip story that, when de Peel was a secure base, a cessna landed there with enige problems. And that the pilot can not find the base on his fly map, lol. Any 1 know if this was trueThat means only 306 was flying with boith bands on it. I remember that the Peel was a Base located in 2 provinces Limburg and Brabant The province line was runing true the runway.Paul wrote:De Peel was WAR base location of 306 till 1994. But... as far as I know the only test aircraft nowadays is the J-066, Orange Jumper.
