UFO near Tonopah!
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

UFO near Tonopah!
Last year October my buddy Steeph and I passed the famous city of Tonopah on our way to Nellis, coming from a fantastic day at Fallon.
We stopped by to take some pictures near the village for fun and continued our way to Nellis.
Tonopah, as the most of you know, is famous for its secret airbase in the middle of the desert and was once home of the F-117 project during its real dark days and of course the Constant Peg program (Migs). Tonopah lays also in the same desert as Groomlake, also known as Area-51. Some believe (not me!!) that this is the place where the Americans operate flying saucers and where they keep Aliens captive.
Here it comes.... After I came home last year form a great trip i found out that I lost my Tonopah pics. To bad but life goes on. But earlier this week I found that CF card again and imported them into Lightroom and found THIS!
Left above the Tonopah sign you see something that looks like a UFO. This is not shoped and its just a converted RAW image that shows the very same object.
Do you know what it is? Is it a reflection like a glare? Fact is that it does appear on two of 15 pic that I shot that night. It was a bright night as well, so its not an aeroplane in a cloud.
Fact is that it is FUN to see it at that place
Cheers,
Frank

But I guess you could see it as an UFO if you really want to .topgun1984 wrote:is it no reflection from the light from a car???
YOU DON'T NEED WHITE LENSES IF YOU GOT A WHITE CAMERA.

Remco, razersharp remark.
however: would the projected light on the road flare also?,
@ Frank: measure the distance between the lights of the front car, but take into account other sets of lights, in the background.... do the same with them. outcome: same distance or same relative distance between te lights, its flare.
then again:
could be a UFO indeed. Not the same type craft I was on board on though....that one was way to swift for a picture like this.
