Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Some pictures of today, sadly no BO105, only 1 Huey and no sun. Despite that, was a nice hour of watching:

I like youre editing, but keep in mind that the pic is resized for web. I hate the spots/ pixels in the pic even if it was 100 ISO.

What did you do with the pic??

Working with Paint 9.0 and CS2 but still feeling like a rookie on pics editing :?

Stil waiting on lightroom and stuff.

Maybe take up one of your classes Iwan :wink:

Still any tips and hints more than welcome (espacialy from the "pro's". :wink: )

I can give you one tip, arrange lightroom as fast as possible. Specially with this wether conditions, you can do amazing thing with this program. Just look at the example from Iwan :wink:

I don't like the editing done by Iwan... The sky is too bright now, if he only had lighten up the Huey it would have been better...

Hi Remco,

Can you give it a try ? I did the try to lighten the Huey, but things started to look unnatural to me. Today I did try to dim the sky lighting, and it does look a bit better indeed.

See what you think of this.

First of all, thx for the compliment on my pics Iwan. Always nice to see pics are apreciated!

Second, I don't see that much difference between your first attempt en the second editing the Huey-picture. Both pics show a almost white background. In my opinion, I did like the grey background because it's more realistic than the white one. Maybe Remco ment to just highlight the Huey, instead of the whole picture?

Okay ... maybe someone else has some pictures of 16-01-2008 ... so we can continue the editingdiscussion in the photographyforum?

Still working on my batch of pictures from 16-1 and experienced the same "problem" as shown here. When using the shadow highlight option in CS2 the sky became all white, or the object (helicopter) experienced a lot of noise.

In my opinion DR-T his attempt was a good one, the first attempt of Iwan look liked a UH-1 at an all white background. the second attempt has a little bit too much purple in it. But I have to say there were very difficult light conditions.

Shall upload some pictures from mine. I was standing at the other side of the runway in comparison with Mike.

Almost the same position as Mike his UH-1 but from a different angle. Too much brown or purple in this picture?

And facing the sun gives a nice silhouette of the Apache. I had this picture in mind and have to say it turned out well. Sometimes you have to be creative with the light conditions.

Iwan, first off all it's very difficult to edit such a small picture, I think you will agree with me. So if Dr.T could provide the original image we can both try a re-edit.

The noise on the Huey does not only look like digital noise caused by a high ISO setting, but it also looks like some oversharping.

@Thijs: Your second shot is :toppie: considering light conditions, a dark Apache and offcourse the anti collision light :!:

Yup, I think your whitebalance (colortemperature) is a little too warm.

I agree with Remco, the background is far too bright giving it an unnatural sight.
