Been to Vannes in 2005; two observations on that museum:
it is a bit difficult to find; it is NOT located on the airfield itself (that is, in the hangars next to the tower)! You can find it in the woods on the eastern side of the field in some small, old German WW-2 hangars! Follow the route to the manege and the paraclub; you'll be surprised by the Nora when you turn a corner (well, I was )
most of the aircraft of the MAVAMO (N2501, N2200, F-8, Etendard, SMB2)are outside and were (in 2005) badly in need of restoration work. The Crusader was very incomplete but still in its US Marines c/s and BuNo ; it was one of the USN/USMC "Crouzes" that was transferred to the Aeronavale for instructional duties and spares reclamation. When visiting Vannes airport don't forget the check the hangars of the micro-light club: when I was there they had three or four stored MS733 Alcyons in military c/s, one or two Fougas, a Broussard and some Piper Cubs.
The Air Club at Lann-Bihoué is situated to the right of the terminal building. They too had some nice Cubs in 2005! More instructions on Lann can be found in the "Where to go?" section here on this board.
Next, not exactly a museum, but if possible check out Dinard-St. Malo (Pleurtuit) which has maintenance facilities where all sorts of interesting Fokkers and ATR's "hang out"; in 2004 they also had a Mauretanian DHC5 in full c/s rotting away near the TAT-facilities, several stored Friendships (including two ex-KLu-examples) were stored near another maintenance company on the eastern side of the field.
A bit more up the road Dinan-Trélivan in 2004 had a Fouga, some Cubs and a MS 733 Alcyon; a technical school stored the ex-CNET Friendship 10320/F-SEBF outside its facilities.
Finally, there is a nice little museum at La Baule-Escoublac (towards St. Nazaire, where you can see sections of A380's being built and Beluga's come to collect sections of A330's and A340's); La Baule had an ex-RAF Bulldog, amongst others. More on that can also be found in the "Where to go?" section of this website.
Final edit: if you take the trouble to go to Rennes-St.Jacques you'll not only find the CeF406's and TBM700's of the ALAT, but also quite a few warbirds (if they haven't been sold by now: they were owned by a company that seems to be out of business now)). In 2004 I logged 4 ex-Swiss Vampires, two ex-Swiss FFA C-3605 Schlepps, five Fougas, a Broussard, an Alouette II, a Mirage IIIE and a Mirage IIIRD (and a civil Caravelle!)
Happy hunting!
