Somebody asked for T-33s?
These Tbirds were shot in october and november 1994. That's 13 years ago and I've not been back again since. We scored 14 different T-33s in three weeks. Thanks for all those nice photos, great memories!

Hi Frank,
That's a coincidence! You mentioned my trip at the same time I was uploading some pics. Pieter was not in my group. I was with Dennis Vink, Jan Swart and Paul van Egmond. We were not the first to go, that honour goes to some guys from Eindhoven, one of the Dirkx brothers was among them.
Rob
edit: Frank, I only scanned them. They are Kodachrome and that's clearly visible in de F-4 shot.

Hi Rob.
Thanks for posting these great images. It hurts that I did not go to Japan earlier. Still. I consider myself rather fortunate with the trip we made in 2002, as many aircraft types (F-1, T-2 and KV-107 for example) have been taken out of service.
Ok, some pictures
On 30 October 2002 it was my birthday which we spend at Akeno in the morning and Komaki in the afternoon. One of my best birthdays ever. Everything was perfect ! Here some of the images of that day.
Akeno 30-10-2002
Komaki 30-10-2002
Tomorrow, maybe tonight already a new day

Thanks for the respons guys. I'm still shaking in my chair!
Frank you have mentioned to go back to Hyakuri!
I heard stories about moving the fence backwards at
the spottingplace. I've been at Hammamatsu AB. They wer'nt
flying, but still interesting enough to look around. We had also a visit
aranged by the US Navy at Iwakuni and Atsugi. I've seen at Iruma
2 T-33 flying. And been to Tsuiki and Nyatabaru aswell.
Grtz,
Roel

In May 2007 the fence was still in the same place as described in the AIM('s). However, base security told us we were not allowed to stand there and we had to negotiate to stay until noon. The problem is that they're apparently gonna grow some sort of crop in that corner.roel lodder wrote: Frank you have mentioned to go back to Hyakuri!

Hyakuri will trade one F-15 squadron for a Phantom squadron (from Naha) in the near future, so there'll be more of this:
and less of these:

Fredo ! Yes, I remember that Playboy, I also remember it was gone suddenly and turned up the next morning on your side of the bed !
You also might remember Gifu. Here they are. Can we expect your scans too here ?
Tomorrow it is the 3rd of November, that was the day of the Iruma airshow 5 years ado which really topped it off. Later some pictures of that.
