today de new coastguard D-228 visited de Kooy and did some circuit work.

How come a german flag (and german reg.) is on the plane while it is in dutch service?

Assume aircraft not yet accepted.

Aircraft is AFAIK not yet in service with the Coast Guard.

A german flag is MANDATORY for all aircraft with a D-xxxx registration.

Looking at this one a note a difference with the 'old' Do228. What's that sort of thing on the forward section? (rails? sort of radar equipment?)

for as far as i know "that thing" is used for polution control. It can take samples from the air the aircraft is flying through., but correct me if i'm wrong :lol:
