F-16s at Poznan-Krzesiny

Post by Mister C »

Currently 27 F-16Cs and F-16Ds are operating out of Poznan-Krzesiny. During a normal flying day 2 missions are flown with in between 8-12 aircraft having both Polish and USAF crews.

I just love the Polish F-16's. They are so cool 8) .
One of them was on static display at CIAF in Brno, it was very nice to see one in real life

One of those (beautiful) pictures also shows a very US-style HAS, as if the picture was taken at a US airbase in europe. Do you know if, besides the delivery of these F-16's, this airbase was upgraded by the United States?

I agree with that! Good to see so much activity at Poznan. While we were on our way to Radom, first weekend of september, we saw 4 of those beauty's in take off during the afternoon mission.

Being a regular visitor to Poznan-Krzesiny over the last couple of years we have seen major changes taking place. The new HAS area looks like beeing at either Spangdahlem or Aviano...by the way they are only used by the 6ELT F-16s.
On the other side of the runway so-called sun shelters are being build to house the 3 ELT aircraft.

Nice pictures boys, but I still cannot believe the Polish have got F-16s. Why of why not the Russian stuff instead of this junk.

Great shots! Is 4079 currently the only one carrying CFTs?

Thanks!

During our visit F-16Ds 4079, 4077 and 4081 were flying with CFT's. The Polish AF started to test the CFT's since a month ago.

Next week the first nightflyingmissions will be performed (mon-thu) by the 31 wing.

On tuesday we noted one F-16 wearing AIM-7 missiles.
There are still some F-16's wearing the US-roundel (4048, 4057, 4084) Normaly missions (2 a day) contain of 7/8 aircraft and on friday they only fly a mission during the morning.
Last tuesday the Falons went to the range for a photo-shoot (show us the pics Mariusz  ) at their return they practised the simulated flame-out procedure.

Falcons CFT-fit: 4077, 4079 & 4081

Great pictures, what an awesome plane with so much more power than the F100-220E offers our F16's. The base and it's facilities look immaculate! Way to go Poland!

Are they? I was in Poznan in June 07 and the 4048 had no US-roundel. Why should they apply it again???

4048 FADED US roundel
4057 Full US roundel
4084 Full US roundel

Alle wearing the roundel on the left side.

All seen last tuesday. In september we saw 4060 wearing a full US roundel. Saw it tuesday but didn't pay attention to it.
