Last couple of years I've seen more photo's from arrivals and departures from outside the base. And rumors that spotting at the fence is allowed for the period of the exercise. Anyone more info on that?
Spotting outside the base is not allowed. They just can't do anything when theres too many people.
But when they avoid the canyon beacause of too much popularity, we should also expect some measures against photographers outside the base.

I think this is the last Iniochos at Andravida AFB, so no more low level flying in the next few years anyway.

The F-16's from Araxos will keep flying low, with or without the Phantoms of Andravida

Personally I think any recommendation to avoid the canyon is its popularity. Given the increasing numbers of people who go there year after year, the Greek AF are likely trying to avoid any mishap given the combination of people numbers and the terrain. We all know what lengths some people will go to to get that shot, whether it’s with a professional camera or an iPhone.
As for Andravida, the exercise time is the only time I would spend any length of time outside a Greek base, but it’s at each individuals personal risk.
As for Iniochos in the future, I think the exercise will take place. It just won’t be located at Andravida, at least not for the next few years anyway while the base is upgraded ready for F-35.
Regards
Mark

Noted on various tracking sites earlier this morning was IFC195, IAF C-17A CB-8006 heading north from the land of pyramids towards the land of Mouskouri & Moussaka, with IFC205, CB-8001 following.
Also heading for LGAD is RCH641 (C-17A 90-0535 originally from Homestead AFB, yes indeed, FM Vipers due) whilst heading home is UAF1223 a UAE C-17, (tail 1225 according to the trackers).
Also involved today (Monday, from ADSB) Adel'A A400 CTM2010/F-RBAL & tanking something over Corsica was Marco29, KC-135FR 525*, whilst heading NE from Las Palmas is another A400, AME3128/T.23-06 assisting the ALA46 Hornets
EDIT * I might have jumped the gun here, FAF4053 KC-135FR 574 is more likely taking the Mirage 2000Ds today
RE-EDIT, I give up, 4053 has continued down into Egypt so ignore, well, everything.

IL78 KJ-3452 departed Dubai? 04.00 heading NW, think it ended up at HESX/ Sphinx with the Sukhoi's.
Also RCH272 KC135R 63-8032 is planned Homestead Lajes today, this is rumoured as support for some FM F16's heading to Andravida.

Make that a total of 5 flying right to left:
- 2x in the morning (10:10): 1 super low other high(er) over;
- 3x in early afternoon: 1 too high, 1 at right level, 3rd in the middle.

4+2 F-16 went high overhead during the day left to right.

Did anyone care to ask the Greek authorities at Andravida and/or Araxos how they will treat people who try to get some images of landing aircraft at a 'decent' distance from the base?

I don't think/hope so because their answer will be that it is not possible to do so!! The Spokesman also said so last year at RF... So better not make too much "noise" and just go and be there in silence....

Opening up the base and exercise to spotters is exactly to prevent people sitting outside the base taking photos. I'd say enjoy their welcoming hospitality and don't mess it up for the spotters who just attend the event on base.
