Kicking this off - Monday 10th Feb. The opening flypast on the huge base of Yelahanka consisted of many waves of aircraft from a multitude of directions, thus making identification a bit of a challenge!

Hi Hans
There were 3 Tejas in the flypast and three recovered to Yelahanka immediately after. All photographed.

Ian,

But in the morning before flypast we hear around 6/7 (?) fighter aircraft departed.

LCA 5018,5034 came in after flypast
LCA 5021 came in after solo display
LCA 5202, 5023, 5028 came in in the afternoon, probably landed somewhere else first.
Su-30 059 came in after solo display

Highly probably some of the above aircraft were in the flypast (but not confirmed yet by photograph).

Also in the program there were two formations of LCA

Formation 3 "TEJAS": 3x LCA VIC formation From 12'o clock right ahead at 700 ft
Formation 7 "YODHA": 4x LCA Diamond formation from Right at 700 ft

Where there actually two formations of LCA ??

Hans (the other one  )

Thanks Hans.
It was a bit chaotic and I thought I photographed everything. I do not have a pic of a four ship Tejas group.

Hi gents,

I have a photo of a 3-ship at 09:31 coming from left to right (just after the M-i8s with flags has passed, so wave 2) and a photo of a 3-ship at 09:35:12 (straight into the sun), just after wave 5, about 25 seconds before wave 6 came from the right.

I also have a picture of 1 Tejas quite close to us, at 09:35:40 so 28 seconds after the 3 ship. This one seems to be the 5034 (difficult to read)

So it looks like there was one flight of 3, and another (intended) flight of 4 which ended up to become a flight of 3 and one single a/c following 28 seconds behind.

Thanks Hans.
As said in my original log above I thought I had the waves out of order and this was because I thought I missed one.

Hans from you pics of the flypast were there any Tejas LCA-Ts?

The first three ship was all single seats.

Cheers
Ian.

The first group was 3, we saw it from the eastern threshold, they appeared to fly south of the airfield.
The second group was 4, but one of them broke off/banked away at the eastern threshold before crossing the airfield! The leader of this group was a dual.

And btw, should you have a good shot of their belly, the last two of the serials are on the main gear covers.
