The last part of the trip.
Next day we did a trip around the airport which also has a military part were CH-148 Cyclones are based. We did see 1 flying.
Also at this airport some stored/dumped airframes could be seen:
Bell 212 N310MP, S61 G-BFRI, S61 OY-HAF and S92 N850AR who arrived the day before on a trailer
Backtracking whole the way to Nanaimo again and from there heading west to Sproat Lake to see the Philippine Mars. This one is made airworthy again for its last flight to Pima air and space museum, the engines of the Martin Mars will be used for this flight. No good picture could be taken as this place was not open to visitors.
Close to Sproat Lake is Alberni Valley Airport located, here the stored B727 N606DH can be seen although again a good picture was not possible.
The next photos are from Comox Air Force Base, we paid a visit to the museum and the heritage airpark.
From the airpark we noticed 2 CP-140, 1 CC-295, 1 CC-177 and 1 CH-149 just taking off, a CC-130 just came in.
Last stop before heading back to Calgary was Campbell River Airport, with this nice Bell 204
Now its time for the long drive back, a small detour was made because i want to have a look at Edmonton Airport. Noliner based 1 737-200 at Edmonton and according adsb it was there, when we arrived it was not seen outside, so likely parked in 1 of the hangars. We did see this stored 737-200
Also seen was a 737-200 cabin trainer fuselage only C-GKCP and a totally white stored 737-200 C-GCNV
The way back took us also again to Red Deer so another quick stop was made
That was this years road trip, a Air Canada B787-9 and 787-8 took us back to Amsterdam via Montreal.
