Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
Drones have attacked the strategic air base Olenogorsk (also Olenya). The base is the Russian second strategic bomb base after Engels air base. It should be based Tu-22M3, Tu-95 and Tu-160 here. Olenogorsk is not long way from the Murmansk on Kola peninsula. On Olenogrosk is also infrastructure for the Iskander to be used of MiG-31 version.
Not long from Olengorsk air base are also a Pechora radar tracking station. One of ten in Russian inventory.
The Olenogorsk air base are protected by S-400. Some of the SAM sites have been transferred to Ukraine border.

The 314th radio technical regiment (OsNaz) Tr 53.98.41-43.84.27 Re 53.88.32-43.99.28 in Kovylkino.
This unit became a guards unit 2024.07.31 by Putin.
314-му отдельному радиотехническому полку (особого назначения) присвоено почётное наименование «гвардейский»
The radar is very powerful.
The radar was droned a couple of weeks ago (and certainly more times).
This is the unit who could control the new Ukrainan F-16 (and count them).
The radar must be a first rate target for the Ukrainan air combat of different types.

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
Yesterday was the Russian air base Morozovsk bombed by a new type of actions with much larger effect.
Heating pictures in some newspappers show much larger effect.
The same time can we see a much larger needle effect of bombings on Crimea of crusial targets.
Especially the space tracking stations.
By the "new" F-16s?
The russians knew the answer.

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
One alternative to that the better bombing is that other weapon systems with better accuracy is used against Morozovsk air base and Crimea yesterday.
And weapons (missiles) with higher power.
I mean missile systems with much better accuracy (most often better GPS).
In the army battle field is signs of better Ukrainan electronic warfare (REB on Russian) use.
Russia have at least more EW weapons systems than battle field tanks.
Strange that Oryx not have higher battle field losses for this type of weapons.
Even air lead in vehicles. This must be crusial for Russia.
With F-16 we get missile systems with higher power and better accuracy (most often better GPS systems).
And of course other gearing of missiles.

Today reporting of Ukrainan crossing border in Kursk direction.
"Several" russian helicopters losses in different sources during this operation.
During the last days are also some other russian helicopter losses reporting, such as Donetsk.

Massive attack on Lipetsk air base. By combat aircraft or drones last night. Lipetsk is a training base and support combat of the Ukrainan war.
The Lipetsk air base is direct reported to the Russian Air Command. The other bases is commanded by the Zapad Commands 6th Air Army Zapad (Western) Army.
It is a base who normally holds at least 60 of the latest Russian combat aircraft types and 100 storage aircraft of MiG-29, MiG-31 and Su-27.
Following aircraft is on the base normally 10 MiG-31, 10 Su-25 Frogfoot, 10 Su-24, 10 Su-30M Flanker, 10 Su-34 Fullback, 10 Su-35 Flanker, 4 Su-57 including some losses in the war.
The base have the whole Ukrainan war suported the combat with sorties,
This was the base of one of the earlier lost A-50.
Lipetsk is also a reserve base after Ukrainan strafing the last days of the Buturlinovka, Voronezh, Millerovo and Kursk main air bases. This means that the Lipetsk base maybee could hold more aircraft than usual.

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
Modern version of "taran" ?
the last days brought some reports (with video) of an Mi-28 (and possibly an Mi-8) shot down by colliding Ukrainian drone :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qhh7Jx3sR9w
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzUmdiV2BAY
Others videos also seem to show some attempts to attack in flight helicopters with such drones.
Difficult to assess wether or not the information is correct but the videos pictures probably deserve some analysis.

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
This is as you call it a taran drone kill the 2024.07.25 taken in on Scramble as a shot down a Mi-28 ("during a training flight").
It is also a newer one kill there a Mi-8 were shot down in Donetsk.
Otherwise there is Taran 1, Taran 2 och Taran 3 ground electronic warfare systems used by the Russian REB forces (GRU). Produced in Ukraine during Sovjet time and still used by Russian forces.
....Zhizdrinsky is not really all that very near to the border with Ukraine....

Re: ALLIED RESOLVE 2022 + the war that followed
The Kremlin continues various measures to bypass Western sanctions and mitigate their impacts on the Russian defense industrial base (DIB). The Russian United Aircraft Corporation stated on August 10 that it manufactured a new batch of Su-30SM2 fighter jets for the Russian MoD, and that the Su30SM2 fighters contain Russian-produced components to replace foreign components in its predecessor, the Su-30SM.
No Su-30SM2 are reported in area but Russian Ai force are short of aircraft after shot downs. We can expecte them very soon over Ukraine.
