HI All,
Historically month of June is the slowest time at Dulles airport. This somehow changed this year and we've got our fair share of unique airplanes visiting our airport.
Honeywell was working out of IAD for 3 days so we had plenty of time to catch their 757 and E170 + their bizjets.
Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight 787-8 came repainted into the Etihad livery. I don't know what's the point to repaint all the government birds into the airline colors (Emirates too).
Got few military birds, Trump came twice with his 757, Polish Sky Taxi came also twice with 2 different 767s, and Alaska brought few special colors too. The spooky Omni 767s based out of IAD got new paint schemes (at least two different ones). Now they look more like a corporate business jet. Got the first one in new colors but still hunting for the second one.
Lufthansa started using A380s to IAD for the very first time ever. Iberia brought one time only A350 for the first time and NOAA P-3 showed up for an event at Udvar Hazy museum.
And the complete highlight of the month was private Short C-23 Sherpa. Conversion from Short 360.
Still in Mokulele colors
Got total of 2 Russian IL-96. I didn't go for the second one as it's been the same one over and over again.
One off, they are starting Dulles twice a week middle of July.
More and move Avianca's with white fuselage pop in. Seems that they are mainly ex Interjet birds.
Highlight of the month
Omni 767 with the facelift
Abu Dhabi Presidential flight - what a waste of paint if you ask me...
