Hi Woody - NA-613 was 167883 last year but was recorded as 168559 during CVW-17's recent cruise in Nimitz; can you confirm please?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

have trawled through them all again, and you could be right, the one that looks to be (NA)613 looks like 1685** (the last two digits are in the shadow of a rotor blade). There appears to be a fourth 613, which I think is 167883, but it has no other markings and was parked away from the others. Unfortunately some of the HSC-3, -4 and -14 aircraft only seem to carry BuNos, so tricky working out which squadrons they are from! (as I'm sure you know!)

Indeed - nothing is easy! 168559 was recorded in both January and April this year during the cruise, so 99.9% your NA-613 as they only returned just over a week ago. On that same basis, NA-610 was 168571 (l/n 6.23) and NA-612 was l/n as 167900 in 2.23.

Cheers

Can't-- no pix, therefore nn. Too much like work on the beach. Even at Ream trying to get numbers is a big pain. YMMV.

Front door spotting-- half a dozen F-22s landed yesterday morning. Mk 1 eyeball only, couldn't even read 2 letter tail code. Photo of them on ramp from unrelated Twitter (xitter?!) acct...https://twitter.com/WarshipCam/status/1 ... WcwJQ&s=19 look in background of CVN-71 photo

We also had a KC-130J from Moffitt land last night after a possible rescue mission far offshore. -60G also from Moffitt and another super Herc from DM involved.

Was out of town last week, so I never saw their initial arrival. Yesterday they were all on the ground by 1030am, so they caught me by surprise.

So when I heard the 'burner take offs between 8-830am this morning I immediately went to the beach, even though the sun would be really bad for recoveries.

EDIT

Dumped the card, here we go...

Boeing F-18E/F Super Hornet
no tail codes, but all a/c have NAWDC fin flash and lightning bolt with either Strike or Topgun decals
120,131,132,105, 130-- standard Navy grey paint above/below
101/BUNO 16579?-- 3 tone brown/yellow camo over grey undersides

USN VFC-13 Fighting Saints
F-16C Viper
AF-307/86-0238 //SAINTS on ventral fin; serial number on fuselage, forward of horiz stab, not on tail

(AZ ANG 195th FS) //in parentheses because they also have Navy-style BORTs, they were flying with VFC-13, and I have no idea if these are truly AZ ANG or Navy birds that haven't been repainted yet--I just get photos, somebody else can interpret
F-16C Viper
86-0296 //color AZ flag fin flash, BORT 306 on inlet, serial on tail
86-0214 //greyed out AZ flag fin flash, '195th' on fin flash, WARHAWKS on base of tail, BORT 326 on inlet, serial on tail

There are any number of planes that have come in this week that I have no pix of: several F-35s (might have been fleet or NAWDC), a P-8, KC-135, and 3 AG tail code Supers* that just came screaming in as I type this, they were so loud my wife even commented, 'sounds like somebody got too close'

*probably VFA-136, one bird was a CAG with red and white horizontal stripes on the rudder
