Michigan Road Trip - Jan/Feb 2023
Hello,
Opportunity came to visit several airports in Michigan. The weather didn't help but I was glad I had the chance.
Started at DTW airport. Nothing was around the airport (except for the Tigers DC-9-51) so I headed straight to Willow Run airport - YIP.
Ramps full of goodies. My most exotic catch was Mexican DC-9 in Mercado Libre special colors.

Even in this company, the Mexican duo are the winners indeed for me!

Next stop on the map was Pontiac airport. I was in a hurry and had time to visit only IFL Group ramp. Active ramp was empty and storage ramp had plenty of Convairs 580 + Falcons 20.
PTK
From Pontiac airport I headed out North for a brief stop at Flint airport (FNT). Airport was deserted with two Allegiant Air A320s and Fedex heavy.

In the evening I arrived at Oscoda airport. Storage and maintenance place for Kalitta Air. I saw about 30 747s, 10 727s, bunch of 737s and MD-80 etc. Snow storm prevented from getting around the east side of the airport and from taking a lot of pictures. As I knew that I will come back, I didn't worry too much.
Some of the things that I've shot in the evening:

Thanks. Airports around Michigan have some real gems hidden around. Car manufacturers make it special for cargo operators to fly 'everything' to the local airports. As for the road trip, it was mandatory (for work). I would never even imagine to drive in that part of the world in winterLifelinerOne wrote: ↑13 Feb 2023, 12:10 Some very nice catches!!

The next day I had the opportunity to return to Oscoda airport. The weather this time cooperated.
