The worst past 30 days for military aviation lovers
These past 30 days have been very bad for fans of military aviation. Worldwide, due to government budget cuts, military aircraft have been removed from operational flight. We are all poorer, with fewer planes to shoot photographs.
Alouette III - Holland ...... 15th December
Mig-21 Bulgaria ...... 18th December
Mirage - Argentina ...... 28th November
and
A-4 Skyhawk - Israel ...... 13th December
sad, sad, sad and sad.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with a lot of air motifs to catch with your camera
Best Regards

2016 will be the year that the French Navy retire their Dassault Super Etendards and the Spanish Airforce will retire their last Boeing 707.
But their is some good news, although its civil, Antonov Design Bureau wil start flights again with their Antonov 22 UR-09307

I thought I'd also seen a headline about VX-30 having retired the remaining operational S-3 Vikings, but can't find anything about it. Could someone confirm?
Greetz,
Patrick

From their Facebook page on 23 Dec:
"As the Bloodhounds of VX-30 prepare for the second sundown of the S-3B Viking in the very near future, a few photos from one of the final S-3B Viking aerial Photo-X events."

Re: The worst past 30 days for military aviation lovers
I am not too much of a 'wishful thinking' kind of guy but it appears to me that repainting an An-22 is costing a real bunch of money. It would not surprise me if they have some plans with it!Fencher24 wrote:The last years she was used for technical instruction. Nowhere there is confirmation she will fly again.
