Trip to Poland, a log in the digital era....

Post by stipjes »

In the second week of Poland we made a tour through the country. It was great. Good food, a lot of beer, nice planes and pictures and ofcourse ....
Any corrections or extra info is very much appreciated. If you need a pic of a specific W&R a/c I can put it. On http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=67584 you can see some pics of operational a/c.

I do not have any idea on how to get a nice format in this forum with tabs that are straight.
10-10-2010, Poznań, Gimnazjum
Preserved in town between some buildings.

0626	PWL	Bies TS8.

10-10-2010, Buk, garden
Via a short walk along the railwayline you can see the following. On W1741 and 9311 they were "working". The Il.14 fuselage had no serial.

W1741)	IAF	Iskra TS11-bis(D)
W1758	IAF	Iskra TS11-bis(D)	tail
nm	PWL	Crate Il.14.	dismanteld

9311	PWL	Mongol-B MiG.21UM	fuselage, wings apart
9298	PWL	Mongol-B MiG.21UM	fuselage, wings apart

There where 5 Mi.2's. Two with a bleu top, one with a faded bleu top, one with a white boom with bleu stripes and one with a grey/daglow
boom.

614 PWL Iskra TS11-100bis(B)
1707 PWL Iskra TS11-200SBbisD(F)

The Team Iskry TS 11 at the range have code 7 and is probably 210 (ex Deblin preserved).
On 21 June 2010 I visit this place and there were 12 TS-11's, in the area behind the main gate.
Including the Team Iskry and 1112 and 1225. (and the 9 you have).

It's 1507 not 1506. 1506 "is here" http://aviation-safety.net/database/rec ... 20100202-0

Using the ´pre´ tags will get you this:
W1741)	IAF	Iskra TS11-bis(D)
W1758	IAF	Iskra TS11-bis(D)	tail

It's 1507 not 1506. 1506 "is here" http://aviation-safety.net/database/rec ... 20100202-0
Okiedokie, the crew told us that it will become 1506..... May-be 1506(2)? Time will tell. Thanks for the comment.

New C-130E Hercules arrives in Poland The Polish Air Force recently took delivery of another C-130E Hercules - this example has Polish serial 1507. The Hercules passed through RAF Mildenhall in the UK at the end of September 2010 in USAF colours as serial 21856 callsign REACH 104
it arrived at Powidz air base in Poland on 1st October 2010 and was re-painted with Polish Air Force roundels and new serial 1507.
1507 arrived at Krakow, Poland on 24th October 2010 for a few days of para dropping - this Hercules was built by Lockheed with c/n 3820 was operated with the USAF as 62-1856 for almost 48 years - the final USAF unit to fly this veteran Herc was the 61 Airlift Squadron ( 61 AS ) as Little Rock, Arkansas.
