Meiringen in terrible weather, raining cats and dogs.....(15 pics)

This morning a fighter jet went straight thru the sound barrier (thought the roof of my house came down!) above the mountains of Interlaken, and that's the moment i decided to try my luck again on the airbase of Meiringen, despite the terrible weather conditions....

"Terrible weather conditions" maybe, but RAZORSHARP images !

And in these grey skies afterburners lit up magnificently! Not too speak of the water splashes that just ooze the "sense of speed"...

These images are FAR more interesting to watch than the "usual sunny pictures".

Really amazing shots! I really like the orange from the engines contrasting against the rainy conditions.

Hopefully you will visit the airbase again for some more stunning shot

Making good pictures in beautiful weather isn't that difficult, but making these sorts of truly awesome pics in bad weather is a different story...

Wow guys, i´m really touched by all the reactions! it´s a sense of warm feeling, knowing we all share the same passion.....i would like to thank you all for the comments. And true, thes kind of weather conditions can give some nice dramatic results. Maybe it´s nice (like Tomba allready said to me before) to plan a nice spotting trip with those who are interested.....thes kind of airbases are truly a different kind of bread....

To Lars Eham: i'm shooting with two old Nikon D200's, one mounted with a 24-70 2.8 and the other one with a 300mm F4 (which is my favorite), the only thing i am missing sometimes is VR/IS...

For now i am still quite happy with this set. They still are leaking raindrops from there hard work of yesterday....

Im curious with equipment you have used and ISO settings etc....
