Today it is Bevrijdingsdag (Libertion Day) in The Netherlands.
I opend this topic for pictures of the Cougar helicopters which were used to fly some bands to the several Bevrijdingsfestivals.
I would like to start with pictures from Roermond. This helicopter had The Opposites and The Party Squad on board. The guys of The Opposites and The Party Squad discovered the fire truck after landing and had a lot of fun with the foam canon

This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Groningen, and Assen for that matter, had S-458. Seen here at the FC Groningen youth training ground. It had Moke on board.

Erg mooi.
Take care!

Re: Bevrijdingsdag helicopters 05-05-2011
In 's-Hertogenbosch the landing location was Pettelaarse Schans and by chance I happened to be there at the right moment.
At 18.13 hrs the grey S-453 landed with the artists and some radio and TV people and she departed at 20.09 hrs. Unfortunately the pilot could not fulfill our request to make a 360 degree turn while taking off (so we could for the last time take pictures from all sides), because the Cougar was "fuel-critic" and therefore had to be flown as economical as possible.
Is the landing zone free?
Blowing the graas clean.
Touchdown.
Short evaluation.
One and a half hour rest.
Start-up checks.
Don't forget the wheel blocks.
Take-off.
And away she goes. Bye bye, Cougar!
Greetz,
