Tanagra and Araxos: change of the "old guard"...
Nice photos! I see "the secret airbase of Kalamata" wasn't on the menu this year ?

Ahhh... happy memories... I see the weather at Larissa was even worse than in 2009 On the other hand, weather at Agrinion was better . How about four pics per base? And, now that I come to think of it, where's the no.2 pics of Tanagra and Nea ?
BTW: nice rainbow over the Larissa F-16!

Hi Hans,
Nice pics! When I compare them to mine I can see that I have to practice more often... Think I'll take my camera with me again on the next trip.
See ya,
Arjan

We can only judge when you show them, Arjan. Let's see yours as well. I think you'll be fine.mailman wrote:Hi Hans,

I hadn't seen the rainbow in the one Larissa shot myself yet !
There are no more pics of Tanagra in my collection from those days. Most of Tanagra's static consisted of the preserved a/c which usually sit on the gravel patch along the southern taxitrack. They had been moved for the Open Days. Furthermore, there was a pair of Mirages which could be climbed into.
For all you who requested some more, here goes:
Kalamata, 5 November 2010.
Andravida, 5 November 2010.
Araxos, 5 November 2010.
Agrinion, 6 November 2010.
Elefsis, 6 November 2010.
Tatoi, 7 November 2010.
Nea Ankhialos, 7 November 2010.
Larissa, 8 November 2010.
Hans.

Nice! Do you happen to have a Mirage 2000-5EG or 2000BGM as well? Please..?
BTW: Of note also in the picture of the unreadable "Have Glass" F-16C at Larissa (122? 225?) is that the Greek AF has apparently acquired the IRIS-T missile also used by Norway and Typhoon-operators.

I read 517 from the Have Glass at Larissa, but have to tweak the image considerably to do so. The IRIS-T was a nice surprise. I had only so far seen them on Norwegian jets as far as F-16 are concerned.
No Mirage 2000-5 or duals, I am sorry.....
Hans.

Perfect pictures! Fascinating to see the Greek just keep on dumping and storing aircraft that will never ever see good use again. Makes us happy, I guess!
