Re: Kecskemét AB 4/5 Aug 2012
To agree with my fellow countryman: we asked the Gripen jocks at Zeltweg, and they told us the decision is expected for December or January - which is maybe a bit late. We also talked to some of our guys in Radom, and their opinion was the same. To be honest, I'm not very optimistic about a 2012 Kec...

Re: Hungarian MiG-15 first post-restoration flight (with pics)
Some very sad news indeed. This was (should have been) the 4th take-off in the flight test programme. The plane tilted to the left, the wingtip hit the ground (that was the point when the fuel tanks were torn off), and the MiG crashed. The crew escaped unharmed. However, it is unlikely that th...

Hungarian MiG-15 first post-restoration flight... and crash
HA-UTI, the two-seater MiG-15 (more precisely, a Polish-built SB Lim-2A version) restored in Hungary took off on its first post-restoration flight earlier this afternoon. The plane's overhaul began in February 2007 (following several months of preparation), and was performed by enthusiasts from the ...

Re: Zeltweg Airpower 11
About the Black Hawks; they were part of a helicopter role demo with more choppers than today's Royal Netherlands Air Force can shake a stick at! The Austrian capability demo was my favourite part of the show. At least on Saturday - due to Friday's accident. The number of choppers alone was astonis...

Re: Zeltweg Airpower 11
Great photos, thanks! I especially like the one with the Black Hawks. Did you have a spotter pass, or did you take the pics from the crowd?
BTW, one stork did show up on Saturday, interrupting Patrouille Suisse's program.

I think it's very likely that the list will be updated with some German aircraft. Maybe static Typhoon and/or Tornado, a CH-53 would also be great.p2philip wrote:Rumors also mention German Tonkas and Me262

The Italian Air Force test squadron will participate accoring to their official page. I guess this implies a Typhoon demo, and maybe Spartan too.

Re: Hungary to buy UH-1s?
Update: The two Mi-8s offered by Finland free of charge are expected to arrive to Hungary in April. Besides the two aircraft (withdrawn from service and replaced by NH-90s last year), the package offered within the Multi-national Helicopter Initiative also includes a large number of spare parts. Leg...

Malév celebrates 65th birthday with retro paint scheme
For the 65th anniversary of the foundation of Malév Hungarian Airlines, a Bombardier Dash8 Q400 (HA-LQD) received special livery reminiscent of the official colour scheme used on Malév Il-18s from 1960 to 1974. Pictures: http://www.airportal.hu/spotter-forum/viewtopic.php?t=4030&f=7 http://jets....

Re: Farewell to Fulcrums in Hungary
HuAF Fulcrums will be on QRA until the end of December, after which they will be withdrawn from service without any further ceremony. You should just hope there will be some QRAs for them in the final days of the year... Did not happen... there were strong rumours on Hungarian aviation-relate...
