Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Story 12. This one needs some introduction and maybe it's a bit 'over the hill' In the summer of 1979 Dick, Rick and I went to the Eifel. We had booked a Gasthof in a very, very, very small and desolate German village, called Hütterscheid? The man on the picture was Herr Koos. The "inhaber"...

Re: some old 80's pics of Soesterberg AB.

Great shots again Dick.

The RAF F-4's were regular visitors, the Turkish transports were not! Kebab wasn't very common those days. Everybody was eating fries from Buitenhuis or junkfood from "the SRV man".

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Great addition Dick!

The group picture is a hard one.

I think the one with a cap was Bert Strubbe and the one on the right is indeed Marcel Kradolfer. Better known as "Pleeborstel".

Keep 'm coming!

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Come on. Stop it guys. Okay, I gained a few ounces. I color my hair (what's left of it) slighty gray, but ...I still have those handsome looks.

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Wow! I guess that's me. I was hoping that there would no pictures around of the author himself.

"Great" camera by the way (Zenith with a lousy 200mm lens).

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Great pic Henk. I wouldn't have recognized you. I did recognize Jan en Frans. There are more than 98000 views since Roel started this thread two years ago! Up to the 100.000! Here's number 7 of the Spotter Book. This one is with Dick Wels and John Kraaijkamp (he really didn't change much in the last...

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"

Not too bad, considering the equipment and the bad weather.

Remember that we took the bus from Bitburg station which had Spangdahlem AB on it. To our surprise it drove right on to the base and we got of close to the tower in the middle of the AB. We had a climb over a gate to leave the base. :P
