Just read on the official RAF socials that the RAF Typhoons and Red Arrows are temporarily grounded due to an issue with the ejection seats. This might also be the case with the Luftwaffe Eurofighters and Tornado's.

And the best maintained left gear...? Damn there seems to be a trophy for everything at the RIAT

In discussions with colleagues and fellow spotters in the past said similar things, mainly about the extremely high costs operating such a small amount of 35's and it being overqualified for some jobs. When in Binsfeld you drive to Saalholzstrasse, just south of the base past the aprons where the bigbirds like the KC-135's, C-17's are parked towards the forrest entrance. Just past the first or second house there is a sign saying 'anlieger frei', so open only for residents (missed the sign the firs...

Maybe interesting to mention: be aware that the german Police is more active lately around the base checking and several fines have been handed out to people parking their car near the forrest entrance near the bench there near the rwy23 approach...!

A lot is missing on the static: 3x FAF Rafale 2x Marine Rafale 3x HAF F-16 4x AMI EF2000 Are they visible from outside the field? These are probably parked at the old 23sq platform in de NE-corner. Strange choice by the Belgiums to park all these interesting acft over there and not (at least some) ...
