No, the letter-type wasn't so "fat", the height seems OK... It's a shame the paintshop didn't do some research and applied the right letter-type. There are some original Dutch Hunter pics in some of the Soesterberg threads here and I bet the MLM could have helped as well. Still, nice class...

Since April 30th is Queensday in NL and therefore a national day-off, I'd expect Volkel to be closed on May 1st as well.

I think the aircraft either came landing with a running EPU (Emergency Power Unit) or it's an exercise for such an event. The EPU runs on hydrazine, which is not too healthy a gas.
