Re: Japan Airshows 2012
Uni,
thanks once again. From http://www.mod.go.jp/gsdf/eae/12b/framepage1.html, am I right in assuming it is open 8am-3pm?
Regards,
Paul.

Re: Japan Airshows 2012
Can anyone give an insight into JGSDF Somagahara open house on the 14th April?
e.g. typical layout of the event (facilities appear northside of a roughly E-W runway), is there parking, does it get visitors, etc. ??
thanks,
Paul.

Re: Japan - 27th~30th November 2011 (Dainibu)
The circuits flown for the water landing involved them turning baseleg whilst decending on a roughly south heading - due north of the NE corner spot.Frank wrote:One thing I just can't figure out, how did you take the shot from above?

Four days spent at Nyutbaru, the first three days were average to poor weather - but at least it turned around for the actual airshow itself. Re: Japan - 27th~30th November 2011 (Part 2/4)
At Iwakuni the new runway replaces the old one (moving the action further from the city). The only spot at the south end I knew was distant before, it must be completely useless now. They were taking off all day to the north. All these pictures are taken from the new' spot at the NE corner (except t...

Hi Paul, Like 'm a lot! The Omura shots are a nice addition since we do not get to see many shots from that place. Regards, Stefan I agree and obviously a nice place to take pictures. How many mm (ff) Paul? Stuff lifting off from the boards were <300mm(ff) and the side on stuff touching down on the...

Japan - 21st~26th November 2011 (Part 1/4)
After cancelling a weeks trip in April (for obvious reasons), ended up spending just over two weeks in Japan (21st Nov~6th Dec) wrapped around the airshows at Ashiya, Gifu and Nyutabaru. Below is first week of the trip. 21st Nov - Nyutabaru http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/p6025/Japan11/7DA002...

Re: Japan, a week in November
But did I spot toned down markings on two Phantoms ?!? I hope this is just a "special marking", and not the grey end of a colorful tradition. Only saw one 302Sqn F-4 with the toned down tail (out of ~13 on the ramp). It might be a left over from the a/c marked for the "Senkyo" e...
